General Audition Information:

Signing up for an Audition: Signups are always conducted both online and in person at various locations on campus throughout Zero and First. Though advanced sign-ups are always highly recommended, we do also allow walk-in auditions from 10:30-11 p.m. each evening.

Our Audition Procedure: For your audition, you will need to prepare a 30-second to 1-Minute clip of a song of your choice. Choose a song that shows off your vocal talent best, and know that we'll cut you off after one minute so as to give each individual a fair advantage. After your solo, we'll have you sing a short collection of random notes, either by tonal memory or site reading, based on your preference. Well also have you sing some scales in order to determine your vocal range. Finally, those of us in the room with you (usually only 3-4 people) may ask you a few additional questions if your Audition Form has left some things unclear. We encourage everyone to audition no matter what vocal experience you have, and assure you that the audition is nothing to stress about. The whole thing will take no longer than 5 minutes.

Callbacks: An email with the Callback results will be released on the last night of auditions, sometime after midnight. The number we invite back depends on how many initially auditioned and how many people we're looking to take. The event will be run very similar to our weekly rehearsals.. you will be learning a few songs in our current repertoire and solo-ing on them too! This procedure allows us to see how you work in this group setting; how you solo in front of your peers, how you blend, how quickly you learn, and what other talents you can bring to our organization. After Callbacks, we will again contact you sometime during the late evening, either by phone or email.
